So last week I was telling you guys WHY it’s so important to WATCH as well as pray. If you don’t keep your eyes peeled, then how are you going to see danger coming? If you don’t see it coming, then how exactly do you plan to intercept it?
Exactly. Stay Frosty! (If you haven’t read that blog, you should totally go back and check it out! 😊)
This week, I wanted to dive into HOW we can stay guarded against the enemy.
It’s all fine and dandy to be able to spot the danger coming, but it’s also our job to be prepared to counter the attack. The problem is that if we don’t have the necessary tools and don't know how to use them, we won't stand a chance at winning the battle. 🙄
Sooooo… the idea is to stay strapped. 😎
No one EVER walks out into a battlefield unarmed! That’s like the first way to get killed. 😳 And for the record, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you are automatically drafted into the army of the Lord and your arch enemy is named Satan, the devil.
In last week’s blog, I reminded us that OUR WEAPONS are PRAYER, FASTING, PRAISE, WORSHIP, THE WORD, THE BLOOD and THE NAME OF JESUS.
This week, there is SOOO much scriptural content… and since I didn’t want this to go on record as being the LONGEST blog ever, I won’t type each one out. All you gotta do is click the links! 😊
Prayer and Fasting - Ephesians 6:18 NLT; Mark 9:14-29 NKJV
Praise and Worship - 2 Chronicles 13:14-16 NLT; 2 Chronicles 20:21-22 NLT
The Word - Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT; Hebrews 4:12 NLT; John 6:63 NLT
The Blood of JESUS - Isaiah 53:5 NLT; Exodus 12:23 NLT
The Name of JESUS - Philippians 2:8-11 NLT
I really wanted to reiterate that THE WORD of God is our main line of defense. All of these references come from the Word. So I’ll go a little more in detail about Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT. It says:
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on ALL of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
***NOTE: The FIRST step in arming yourselves is to KNOW YOUR OPPONENT. Study them, know their strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, you know what your best line of defense is.***
(Scripture continued…) Therefore, put on EVERY PIECE (not some of it, you need ALL of it) of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.
For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.
Stay alert (there’s that STAY FROSTY phrase, again!) and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
LET’S TALK TRAINING
I’d like to point out that even though you’ve been given these weapons, what good is it if you don’t know how to use them?! 🤔
As a five-foot tall, petite-build, WOMAN, I need to be aware of my surroundings (Stay Frosty!) as well as be fully prepared should any danger come my way. I’ve recently realized how important it is to not only be strapped in the Spirit, but in the natural realm as well. 👀 I am often at a disadvantage because of my characteristics and even though I “Stay Strapped”, I still need to train to be able to use what I’ve been given.
Sooo… I've enrolled in multiple self-defense classes and the like to be able to stand against any opponent.
TRAINING IS CRUCIAL.
It's the same in the Spirit realm... knowing which prayers to pray and what scriptures to declare over yourself is VITAL to the enemy's defeat. Reading the scriptures, learning the names and characteristics of God, and keeping our lives in obedience to God is all a part of our Spiritual training.
TRUST ME, it pays to know what the Word says in times of trouble. The Word is your safety, provision and protection. Psalm 91 NLT
So, all in all, what I’m saying is that the enemy is GOING to attack. It’s his nature, it’s what he does. He clearly has nothing better to do with his time. The question is: Will you be ready?
Stay Frosty; Stay Strapped.
For all my music fanatics, this song always does it for me. 😊
