YOUR Best is Good Enough.

Updated: Aug 19, 2023

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Go easier on yourself.

In a world where everyone is saying, “work, Work, WORK! HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE!” it is EXTREMELY hard to EVER think that you’re doing good enough. The minute there becomes more bills than money and more to-do’s than time… and then don’t even mention when you see someone else’s social media and they’re so called “winning”… we automatically result to working HARDER to try and MAKE things happen. Unfortunately, we too often overwork ourselves and nearly kill ourselves with stress and exhaustion while concurrently not reaching our #goals.

Specifically To The Workforce: I completely agree with the Bible as it says, “If you don’t work, you don’t eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). However, I believe that understanding healthy balance is key. I also believe that giving yourself GRACE is the key to not accepting the mindset of failure. Just because you haven’t reached every goal, does not mean you’ve done any less. It means that you keep pressing toward the mark, but all the while remembering that if you’ve given YOUR best… it’s good enough. To be honest, that’s all God wants… and when you’ve done that… REST.

I also believe that this same concept can be applied to refute insecurities. Stop for a second and speak these words over yourself… “My BEST is good enough.” Press toward whatever God is calling YOU to do. Uniquely YOU. The mindset of perfection can be so dangerous. Trust me, I know from experience. Often wanting to appear perfect and uphold the image and bar that “the world” always set landed me feeling so horrible about myself all the time. It led to feeling like I was never getting anywhere, kind of like the parable of the tortoise and the hare. Yet the moment I remembered that God isn’t into comparison and that He searches our heart and judges us individually (Jeremiah 17:10)… I was released from the pressure of trying to be something I’m not.

Run the race that God has called YOU to… press toward the mark, but don’t kill yourself to get there. Give your best and nothing more or less because at the end of the day… It’s good enough.
