I often hear the saying, "Comparison kills creativity." When we find ourselves so busy looking at the lives of others, we discount the seasons that we're in and the ideas/abilities we possess as well. Social media makes that very easy these days! 🙄
However, as you read the following words, allow it to remind you how amazing you are just as God created you... and be encouraged!

I've been many places & seen many things
But never have I felt so incomplete
The world paints mirages of everything glam

Kids should be rich & drive luxury cars
Weaves should be long, outfits should be new

Disney channel kids out living MY dream
Friends get promoted while I'm still chasing things

Lord, help us to love ourselves the way we were created...
Each & every single thing cause You took time to make it.
The way we look, the things we like - Uniqueness at its greatest
Show us a mirror; help us learn how to appreciate it.
Help us know that where we are is right here where You want us.
Help us ignore imaginary deadlines here upon us.
Teach us how to trust You through the seasons that we live in
And show us how to love ourselves inside the skin we're given.
You're perfect, God, Your will is great and worth the lengthy journey.
Help us with patience while we wait 'cause there's no need to hurry.
What You have destined with our names will come to pass in time -
Don't have to look like anyone else; help us to fix our eyes. . .
Keep sight of who we are and fall in love with it again,
See the beauty in ourselves and steer clear of the trends.
Help us to hold on to Your words and know we're in Your hands.
